Hi! Nice To Meet You!
I'm Jodi Potter, head trainer at PeaceLovePaws. I've been fascinated with animal behavior ever since I was a child and I feel lucky to have been able to turn my passion into my profession.
I have a BA in Psychology and have 15 years of Elementary Education under my belt. However, nothing prepared me for when in 2016 I adopted my shepard mix, Cleo (right). She was very fearful and highly reactive to people and other dogs. I had two small kids at home and was expecting to bring home some Disney Dog that loved everyone and you could take anywhere. After a little time (and some tears) I reached out to some awesome trainers in my area and learned to ditch my expectations and love and teach the dog in front of me. Cleo turned out to be my greatest teacher and is now living her very best life! Dolly (left) came a few years later. I hate to say it, but other than chasing squirrels, she is pretty darn perfect. Between the two of them, I fell in love with training and never looked back!
I am both a CATCH graduate and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer through the Certified Council of Pet Dog Trainers. I also volunteer at St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center, working and learning under some of the best trainers around.
Just by visiting this page, you've already taken the first step towards strengthening your connection with your dog! I can't wait to take you the rest of the way!
